Fiverr is a very popular site. Of course, there are a lot of great deals, and then, there are some that are not so great. However, with Fiverr, it is kind of nice for some people as it means they can use the service anonymously.
Five dollars for a service that might cost 5 or 10 times more regularly is pretty awesome in my opinion! For some, it might even be insane. You can get logos, fast WordPress fix-its, Twitter followers, Facebook fans, Youtube views, traffic, and much more. Of course, there are many silly gigs out there (gigs are Fiverr’s awesome way of saying “jobs.”)
The issue I am seeing is that if you are exposing your website to some of the users there, be careful, some of them may not be polite. And if they are contacting you rudely, report it.
For example, I was contacted by a user whom after I mutually cancelled an order because my order did not fit their specifications (I did follow their instructions), and the gig required that I share my site’s link, title, description, and such, the seller decided to contact me. Based off of what little conversation on Fiverr we had, he decided to be snotty. I had not belittled this gentleman, nor gave him an attitude. I did not even ask to be contacted after the Fiverr gig was cancelled. So, I submitted a report ticket. Whether Fiverr does anything, it does not matter, but really, this is an example of Fiverr’s Terms of Service under their Squeezed version called “Staying Out of Trouble”
- To protect our users’ privacy, user identities should be kept anonymous. Requesting or providing Email addresses, Skype/IM usernames or any other personal contact details (Other than your name) is not permitted.
- All communications, information and files exchange should be performed exclusively using Fiverr’s messaging system.
- Posting or sending adult, illegal, rude, abusive, improper, copyright protected, promotional, spam, violent, nonsense or any uncool stuff is strictly prohibited. Doing so will get your account blocked permanently.
Make sure that what is being done is a violation of Fiverr’s Terms of Service. If it is not, Fiverr conveniently gives you a link to a form so you can send them a brief note on the report. When I mean brief, like maybe under 500 characters.
Once you have submitted your report, and it is a first time report, you should shortly receive a letter from Fiverr with a link to confirm your ticket. It will lead you to their Support Desk. You then enter the password you desire and then I recommend reviewing your ticket and also submitting any other relevant information.
While reporting another user for contacting you may seem harsh, it is not harsh if the way they contacted you was inappropriate, nor even necessary. While I do know there are people contacting each other outside Fiverr after working with each other on the website, it is the ones who contact in order to cause trouble that are a problem.
Keep an eye out for that and if you use Fiverr, leave the conversation at Fiverr unless it is a mutual agreement.
Have you ever had a bad experience with Fiverr?

I just discovered fiverr last night, and I think it's a nice site to make some few dollars. I'm still studying the site to get started.
Thanks for this post.

I personally have tried fiverr to get views to a you tube video as well as to send tweets to twitter. Personally I was not satisfied at all, not one of the services actually did what they were supposed to. I just but it down to another scam.
