I have noticed more alerts from my Askimet plugin since the recent update in their plugin and the WordPress 2.8.1 upgrade. Basically, the notice usually says that there are issues and it might be a firewall problem. However, I have never had issues with this before.
I checked with the technician of my servers and was told that there had been no logged issues nor any recent graceful reboots, so I am wondering how sensitive this newest plugin version of Askimet is. Although it is no issue to be alerted as it is nice to have Askimet on the side to take care of potential spam.
Has anyone else noticed this with their blog since the upgrade of both the plugin and their WordPress?

I’m waiting for the cPanel update to hit my server before 2.8.1, and I just haven’t upgraded Akismet yet. Sounds like I might be wise to wait.
Dan says
Well, I mucked through the upgrades, and I’m doing fine so far.

If you have not asked your host already, you are entitled to slip a support comment in. Your host is suppose to stay on top of upgrades including cPanel.

To my knowledge, Fantastico hasn’t updated to 281, so perhaps I mis-spoke about that.
Also, Ms. Standards, I made my page XHTML strict just to see if I could. Now I’m going back to re-add the Hulu clip and ruin it again. ๐

lol… My page is not even perfect. I checked it and some of it is due to the outside stuff. Some from coding which I will be tackling since I have been in a revamp mode. Hard to revamp over 500 pages. Some sections I do not want exactly like the others.
Congrats on the XHTML strict. ๐
I did not see it in mine, but I fired off an email to my tech about it to make sure it is updated immediately when it becomes available.
