I enjoy talking about different types of content creation, like podcasting, so when WordCamp Dayton came around, I was excited to be a part of the event.
A lot of people aren’t quite sure how to implement podcasting as another way to broadcast their content. It can be quite powerful if used as it allows you to reach those who connect better by listening.
If you’re already podcasting, compare what is being shared in this presentation called Podcasting for WordPress to what you’re currently doing. And, for those who haven’t started podcasting, or are considering it, this will give you all the tools and tips you need to start off on the right foot.
I do want to thank Kimberly Castleberry and Daniel Lewis for taking a peek a my presentation before I gave it, as I wanted it to be fairly solid. I rarely consult with others, but because I knew Daniel was going to sit in, I had to make sure that it covered the basics of podcasting.
You can view the 23 minute podcast presentation via video, or use the podcast and follow along with the slides. If you have any questions… please don’t hesitate to ask.

Nile,
You have NO IDEA how helpful this was. I hear about podcasts now and again but really did NOT know anything about the nuts and bolts of it. I listened to the whole podcast. Great information! I always wondered what the deal was with Blog Talk Radio. Thanks for sharing what a mess that is. And thanks for explaining why NOT to use Amazon S3, cause I don’t need no $1,000 bill if my podcast episode goes viral! Knowing what plugin to use, and knowing that the podcasts can be as simple as 2 to 5 minutes is great to know. I realize all this information is ‘simple’ but, if you don’t know anything about podcasts, like me before listening to you, then the information is invaluable. You’ve also saved me a lot of time from having to figure it all out.

Thanks Jim!
I really appreciate that you’ve gone and listened to the presentation.
While I’m not totally against BTR, I certainly don’t recommend it as a podcaster grows. As a podcaster, controlling your content is important, and without BTR’s branding, you can have your own advertisements that you want to do.
