Matt Mullenweg Interviewed By CNN Money On 10 Years of WordPress

By Nile Flores 18 Comments

In honor of 10 years of WordPress, Matt Mullenweg was interviewed by CNN Money.

Matt goes over the fact that WordPress being open source, people trust it. CNN Money asked him if he thought about selling WordPress, but Matt says that WordPress is staying as it is unless he gets to run the show. I don’t blame him. WordPress is his baby and he is doing an awesome job with it. Of course, he doesn’t need me to tell him that… he knows it. ๐Ÿ˜€

The video is not very long, but it is a great tribute to WordPress.

I have embeded the video below for your viewing pleasure, but you can always go to the original site to check it out as well.

What are your thoughts after watching Matt Mullenweg being interviewed by CNN Money on 10 years of WordPress?

    Nile.

I enjoyed this video interview with Matt from WordPress. I just love my WordPress because I own my own domain. So good to hear that he is keeping this stable. The features and all the plug-ins are so easy to do, even I could do it and that is saying a lot hehe.

Again, it was interesting to see that interview from CNN, thanks so much for sharing it.

    Hi Nile,

Thanks for sharing this interview. I love WordPress and I know a lot of people do. Matt Mullenweg is a cool guy! Thank goodness he created it! I think it is interesting that he majored in Political Science and said it was more helpful for him in an open source project. I love the Bill of Rights! This is a nice tribute. Thanks!

I think that’s another reason why I love WordPress, that the owner has a vested interest in it’s success and it isn’t about venture capitalists and selling the site for a small fortune.

    Happy Birthday to WordPress!!
I think Matt adds a lot of sex appeal to the brand, not just because he is so handsome but the use of Jazz music and themes is a nice backdrop and sets the tone for a brand that’s really cool and hip.
It’s always great to hear him speak because he started from such humble beginnings which helps him stay grounded and in touch with users.
Thanks for sharing the video Nile.

Who else, if not Matt Mullenweg. I mean he is the Gandolf for us bloggers. If it not were wordpress, I do not think much of us would have made it so far. And, its really good to hear that he will be the one taking care of the baby.

Nile, WordPress is like a dream for someone trying to make websites the easy way. I have used several tools to build websites, and I can tell without a doubt that WordPress is my favorite CMS. Everytime I use Blogger I wonder how Google feels about the fact that his CMS is ridiculously worst than Matt’s work.
