Graphic: WordPress Trademark

By Nile Flores 18 Comments

For many, WordPress is a well known brand. It is what powers this blog and millions of others over the world. However, are you aware of how WordPress should be written?

This little mistake could even prevent you from becoming an employee with WordPress! So, respect their trademark. If you have questions, you can always contact the WordPress or the WordPress Foundation on acceptable uses of their logos and name. However, you can also refer to their Logos and Graphics page or the WordPress Trademark Policy.

    Nile,

This is an excellent point. Seem all to easy to overlook and with some possible consequences.

Trademarks must be respected. They went through many difficulties and it took a very long time to be established. We all should be careful with them and i totally agree if you can get punished for using it wrong.

good point. We often ignore the trademark. Time for us to give respect to the trademark. Do not write a brand with no respect anymore.

Thanks for coming up with such a nice think. Even in my view trademarks should be respected and i have seen the word WordPress has been misspelled quite a number of times in various websites and is overlooked but I am sure after going through your post these mistakes will never be repeated.

How about the people using the name WordPress in their domain name. Should they be penalized by the search engines?

    Hello Nile,

This article has made me understand that there are things which many of us don’t know. WordPress is an unknown feature for many and relatively new to many. In fact, we can learn a lot about its importance, purpose and what to expect from it. SEO consultants can benefit a lot from this as it is of a great help. We have Premium and Free WordPress themes available to help us in hosting our sites.

Thanks a lot for the post.
