Blondish.net Podcast: Advice For Newbie Bloggers

By Nile Flores 15 Comments

I decided not to use Blog Talk Radio for podcasting as I felt the quality was not that great, and that if I needed to go over a minute or two, this was an issue.

I will note that I may be a little breathier than usual due to the fact I have been ill for most of the week. However, I think this is a good starting point. Most episodes will be 15 minutes and some special ones like interviews, presentations, or topics done with my friend Kimberly Castleberry, will be at the most, 30 minutes.

My opening and ending credits: TNT by AC/DC and Greg Mehochko put together both opening and ending.

Advice For Newbie Bloggers

This episodes goes over what new bloggers should think about when it comes to their first blog. This is more of a brief cover over:

  • Do you choose free hosting or self-hosted site for blogging?
  • What are the most important things to plan and think about when starting a blog?

Nice! I have never used podcasts. Are they an effective way of marketing?
Hm… you just opened a new whole world for me!

I liked the podcast! And yes, it is a lot easier to write about things that you love… you break that passion into little bits of info that you share with others. If you write about something that you don’t care about it will be pretty evident to the audience.

Thanks for your posts, I always enjoy them and LEARN from them.

This is really full of a lot of good advice for people starting out! I also had the decision of trying free hosting or not, but the idea that I would make decisions, like making my blog a comment/keywordLuv friendly do follow blog, and possibly have the whole blog taken away just because the free hosting company decided to make changes, helped me decide that it’s better to pay for hosting and know that your decisions can be carried through. However, i did start out with a free hosting system on wordpress which I kept while purchasing my own. You live and you learn.

Some very good advice for the new bloggers, they should start implementing these advices. Planning is one very important factor which shouldn’t be taken lightly because blogging requires dedication, patience and investment as well and without proper planning strategies cannot be successfully executed.

A newbie blogger should definitely choose free hosting from Blogger, Tumblr etc. especially if it’s their first blog. I’ve found using a custom domain and Blogger’s free hosting works a charm! Keep up the good work 🙂

You can also do custom domains for WordPress.com accounts as well.

I use only paid for web hosting. I have heard too many bad stories and results from free web hosting. I don’t want to lose all my content someday because my free host decides to shut down on me.
