After all these years, I’m still hustling. Hustling… it’s another word for working hard. I know a lot of people who keep telling me how they have a hard time making ends meet. Some of them, I’ve passed them opportunities that if they had only reached out, the job (which included benefits), was in the bag. Some of them have taken the opportunity given, and others didn’t.
Those who didn’t, still complain about having problems with their finanances and needing help. In a few cases, those issues are understandable due to health issues. However, that should never be an excuse.
I’ve always been an ambitious woman. I don’t expect others to want the level of success I want. I may have taken the longer route to get there, but it wasn’t alone, and it wasn’t done half-baked.
If you’re not making it, then you gotta keep hustling!
You Gotta Keep Hustling!
If you’re having problems trying to make ends meet, and have placed your hopes on an online business, you may want to look deeper into the issue. It doesn’t matter if you’re having an issue with health, or if you’re perfectly healthy.
This is absolutely 100% dealing with what you NEED to do, and what you want to do. My father always told me that if I wanted to do something, I would go out and do it myself. And more than 90% of the time, I had to do it BY MYSELF, where others would just quit before starting.
I’ve reached out to people. It’s easy to get shares and likes. It’s easy to reach out to friends and get the word out. It’s difficult to get people to spend money, unless you’ve got something people can really trust. They won’t donate money. Well, maybe a few hardcore followers may generate some revenue because they like you and want you to keep doing what you do. However, the majority… they would rather spend it on something that gets them something back.
It’s a hard reality. I know this! As a developer, I’ve constantly had people ask me for support for software I don’t give free support for. And for some who would pay, they would treat me like I was a dog begging for a small bone to gnaw on, and would offer me a laughable amount, like $1 or $5, especially when they boasted that my software was earning them hundreds or thousands each month.
The reality is that you can’t rely on other people, products, or things to get you ahead. You can’t rely on people to help you, even if you’re extremely ill. YOU need to keep hustling.
Whether you want to make ends meet, and pay the bills, or make a lot of money, it will take a lot of hustle. If you’re not working another job, you’re going to have to work… through the broken bones, through the migraines, through all the pain, and through the illness.
It’s an unfortunate thing. I really get it. However, I’ve seen amazing stories of people who have an illness, or a genetic issue, or a missing limb, that have made it happen, and it was because they were hustling. They suffered while hustling to succeed.
So, there’s no excuse.
So you say – “But I want to work for myself.”
Working for yourself is a HUGE responsibility. Not everyone can drop their current work, and just go blazing guns off into the sunset on their own.
Be smart. While it’s awesome to dream and to have plans, there’s a reality check that needs to be done before you wreck yourself.
If you’ve just started hustling on your own, and you’re not getting anywhere, don’t be afraid to look at getting hired at placed that have similar interests. You WILL learn a lot of things in working there, that will carry over to your own personal business.
There’s no shame in working for another company. I can vouch for that. You can work for a company, and also work for yourself, especially if you find the right situation. Sure, the beauty of working for yourself is awesome, but it’s not something that will come right away, and it won’t make you a lot of money right away.
Creating a successful business that you solely own, WILL take some time.
Sometimes you do take two steps forward, and then you end up taking two steps back. It’s life. You learn to live and revise your plans.
The plans for business and your own life aren’t that much different. You make plans. You execute those plans. Sometimes you get success. Sometimes you fail.
Never give up on hustling.
You may be on some streak, or at the top of your game, but never put the breaks on. Always keep hustling.
Are you still hustling?

Hi Nile,
Yeah, you are right; I support this post a 101%… You gotta keep hustling.
It may not be easy, but it will be well worth it; the experiences you’ll have along the way, howbeit tough, are the things which will make you be much sought after tomorrow.
Without a cross, there can not be a crown… it’s training for reigning.
The secret of every successful man/woman is in their story; without a story, you’ve got no glory.
The rough times you are going through now will form your story for tomorrow which you’ll share with others going through what you’ve already been through and it’s this your story that will determine how much you’ll be paid or worth.
The tougher the story, the greater the worth.
So look on the bright side and keep hustling.
Yes… You Can
Cheers

Yes, unfortunately it’s the truth. If we need the money, we need to keep going when it would be much easier not to. But, I don’t think that people in a lot of pain can work to their full capacity. It’s not just the physical aspect but how it affects your thinking. I’m not talking about depression here, although that does often kick in, but the fogginess that descends on your mind, often made worse by meds. I have a tooth abscess right now but until the antibiotics started to ease the pain I couldn’t think straight. My partner suffers from arthritis and although he tries to keep going he’s nowhere near as productive as he was. Many of his clients have replaced him with a younger model. Saying this having a positive attitude does help.

I get it. It’s tough. My stepmom tried to work as long as she could before the cancer got worse, and the pain between her fused back (all the way up), and the cancer was too much.
There are a lot of people who suffer, but those with a more positive outlook… yes, it definitely helps. 🙂

Nile, I am smiling so hard!
Yes, you have to grind when you need to generate any amount of revenue. Just because you wanted to work from home. Maybe, you thought it would be easier? Well, now reality hit ya and all those online people not being transparent. Now, are being exposed. Ton’s just like you stated Nile, are coming out the woodwork, per say.
Everyone is sitting up some kind of cause and placing it on those site for donations. Yet, check to see if they actually have a legit Non-Profit?
Hey, I do not knock anyone from making a buck. Just keep it real and remain ethical.

This post is so true. It really inspired me today. People don’t understand that if you can, you have to work through the pain. Sometime you don’t have any choice. If you want to get paid, keep the lights on, keep a roof over your head, you have to grind. I also believe that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It will get easier one day.

Yup….. I am still hustling and let’s see how much time can hustle…. probably forever. 😉

When I was reading your blog post, I recall a story. which is
Struggling Butterfly
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If we go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

This is a great “pep talk” post Nile, something that people (especially those who complain or are thinking of giving up) need to know! Even those who are making 6 or 7 figures as online marketers, have still had to “hustle” to get there, in fact it’s highly likely they’ve hustled a lot more than others! And, everyone goes through their “hard times”, but there are really good times as well. It helps a LOT if you believe in yourself and what you’re doing.

Keep husting and don’t stop. We can always get rid of those hindrances if we plan on things we are doing and of course don’t forget to have a break, rest and get fit in order to keep us going.

Great advice for anyone that wants to make it somewhere in this world. The most precious things in life come from hard work and a great attitude. I count owning a successful business that was the result of hard work as one of the greatest opportunities in life. It is not for the faint of heart though. That is why, in my opinion, those who can hustle and endure are the ones who will succeed.

Success does not come to the lazy. And I believe half of luck is hard work.

I’m a BIG fan of the “side hustle” and treating your job as if it’s a consulting gig. Put those 2 things together and you have immense freedom.

Nile, I would never be able to keep up with you younger folk! It just isn’t there any more. But most of us are capable of doing a lot more than we think we can. A positive attitude clarifies goals and give me strength. Thanks for the boot in the rear!!

SO TRUE! I LOVE working from home but it is a HUGE undertaking. My husband and I have batted around the possibility of me working from home for an actual company. I am hoping that becomes an option. Until then, I will be waiting until the following semester to start tutoring at my local college while attending school. It is a great way for me to make a little extra cash, without taxing my abilities at home and school!

Heyya..It truly motivated me today. Individuals don’t comprehend that on the off chance that you would, you be able to need to work through the torment. At some point you don’t have any decision. On the off chance that you need to get paid, keep the lights on, keep a rooftop over your head, you need to crush.

Thanks for sharing the naked truth Niles!
It’s too bad that so many seem think we or they live in
a push button type of world!LOL!
Typically I’ve found more times than not, those that are consistently able
to keep moving forward, even if they don’t initially, necessarily have the fastest
pace.
Ultimately, it’s they who will win and thereby reach the vast majority of their
major goals, more times than not!
Thanks so much for just sharing the plain old truth about it!
