I have used the free version of WP Ecommerce for quite a while, so when I had a client need their product to accept payments through First Data’s LinkPoint module, my client invested the money to add the extra payment gateways.
Lo and behold, when installing the premium upgrade, the payment gateway did not work. I submitted a ticket to their premium support – mind you that they subtract from it and you may get support from a “trusted” user of their product… not the plugin creators.
So, I was lucky two days later to get an email to check my payment gateway choices and finally, the LinkPoint selection appeared. So, I decided to put in the store ID and fill out the instructions. When updating, the page loaded to a blank page.
THEN, when my client tested the payment, it also loaded to a blank page, AND the transaction had not gone through. So, I sent a reply to the “trusted” user to update them on my client’s findings.
In the forums there have been many issues with this premium plugin concerning the payment gateways that have no solution or the members are struggling to find a solution…. TO A PLUGIN THEY PAID FOR!!! This is not right and I feel it is necessary to make sure that others are aware of this and that the plugin creators wake up. When you offer a paid plugin, it should work. If not, it should be taken down, re-worked, and then given out.
This would eliminate the need for someone to come in and fix an issue that should not be charged tokens, as according to their policy. It makes people like myself who have respect for plugin developers (I am one myself) have to question what is going on?
Anyone have any issues with the premium upgrade plugin?

I agree, I just bought the plugin and you would expect simple documentation and even a FAQ for the most common bug remedies. I just got lost in the forums as they have no real sequence or sign of resolved issues.

While eventually I did get some help and the trusted user did had to consult the head developer, it took time.
The premium upgrade should have been corrected. While the payment option my own client needed was one that is not as widely used… it IS used by big time serious credit card handling companies. If they can get their ducks in a row on this plugin and not be so tight on their premium support, I believe they could be making a heck of a lot more money. Obviously they have people willing to do support for them and have built a substantial reputation in the WordPress community. However, that is mostly on the free end of the spectrum. It is making sure the people paying money are happy too.
Thanks for coming by and adding your feedback on this. I still would use WP ecommerce, but mostly for the free part. Once they have updated and corrected the other payment gateways/ premium gold cart… I will post. Hope this catches their attention and perhaps they might allow me to test it and do a review again.

I've been experiencing the same exact issue (LinkPoint gateway, blank screen after checkout, etc). Submitted a "Premium Support" ticket and got an initial response, which did not solve the problem. Wrote them back, and haven't gotten a response (even offered to pay extra!).
In any case, I'm finding more and more similar posts, but no results on how to fix it! Were you eventually able to solve the problem and get transactions pushed through and a confirmation screen to come up? If so, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

What I learned over the past years is that when you purchase a product or an item. I have to check reviews online about the product that I planned to purchase. For that I will know if the product is really good or have some negative feedback that is really important to me.

It is frustrating to pay for something that does not work as expected. It's been 26 weeks. Did they ever get back to you on this? Did they do anything extra to compensate you?

I did get some help, but it was hands on and I had asked for them to share how they came up with their solution. They did not tell me. Now, in the forum there there are some topics and people trying to explain, but they are not that clear. From looking, I believe they did a tweak and then on my end I inserted the info for the LinkPoint and put the file and the SSL certificate in where they were needed.
While I am glad I got an answer, I was not impressed with the service and it is unfortunate because it really is a good plugin.

Though I have great respect for plugin developers but irresponsibility is totally unacceptable especially when money is at stake. The plug-in was the only thing that I was lured into buying without doing any background checks and it proved to be the worst experience as when I mailed them about plug-in malfunctioning I didn’t receive reply for weeks and to make it worse the forums were littered with posts about the same problem and no one knew what to do. But once I figured it out I frantically started looking for alternatives and thank God now I am using something way better.
