This past week has been a very busy week, especially with WordCamp San Francisco 2013. I’ve selected quite a few tidnbits of news, and not so much on themes and plugins. However, that is okay. From time to time, there will be more in each area for #WordPressWednesday.

WordPress Themes
Nick Roach is asking Elegant themes users to take a survey. This is important as it will help assist in improving Elegant Themes.
WordPress Plugins
WPBeginner shares on how to make bars and charts graphs in WordPress with the Visualizer plugin. This seems like a really handy plugin for sites in need of this functionality. I’m guessing sites on stock values, or using WordPress as a presentation are just a few that might benefit from this plugin.
Cory Miller shares reasons to check out the iThemes Exchange, an e-commerce plugin.
WP Explorer shares a tutorial on how to create a FAQ plugin for WordPress. The plugin basically creates a custom post type, and shortcodes for the display output. It is really simple and you can even alter it for markup to style your plugin.
WordPress Development
Mark Jaquith announced on July 24, 2013 that WordPress 3.6 release candidate 2 is available for testing. Although there are some people gutsy enough to put the release candidate on their live site, I’d suggest either using a local install or a beta on some server with the WordPress Beta Tester plugin.
Andrew Nacin shares a potential roadmap for taxonomy meta and post relationships. If you are a developer and familiar with WordPress, this might be a discussion to read up on and maybe join in thinking out a logical process. It could prove to help WordPress down the line on organizing the architecture behind taxonomy meta and post relationships.
Recently, there had been a Contributor day for the Theme Developer Handbook. It’s okay if you missed it, but if you want to contribute, let them know.

The editor of Torque, Michelle Oznowicz lets the WordPress Community know that WPDaily has been archived at Torque.
Jeff Chandler of WP Tavern talks with Ben Gillbanks, the owner of WPVote.com on its status after 3 years. Ben is the one who took over WPVote and made it solely functional on WordPress, making it the first WordPress social bookmark.
Kimberly Castleberry summarizes Matt Mullenweg’s State of Word from 2013 WordCamp San Francisco.

WPBeginner is a really useful site and one which I’ve used a few times in the past, I do like the sound of the Visualizer plugin, I may just have to take it for a test drive 😉
