What Grade Is Your Website?

By Nile Flores 8 Comments

Website GraderWebsite Grader is a fun tool that extremely useful for webmasters from all types of sites. This site calculates a grade based on several pieces of information:

  • Meta tags
  • Keywords
  • Linkage
  • Rating from Google, Alexa, and more
  • Some of your WhoIs information on your domain
  • Your site design (if you have too many graphics)

For example, my site got an 86% (as of February 23, 2009)when I ran it through Website Grader. It allows you to see the site in a way that is close to what the search engines see it and how your visitors see your site. In a way, it literally gives you a way to think about what you have put on your site and how to improve it. The site even contains extremely helpful articles in improving your site, especially with getting inbound links to your site.

As of today, Crestfallen has a grade of 87%. I think it was the same a few months back.

ROFL. Well, then that is a lot of work to do, but I am sure you can do it whenever you have time to work on your site. No worries, the first time I tried it in December 2008, I got a 68%.

Resourceful. Everytime I see sites that do things like this one does, it blows my mind! That is a lot of info to process to come up with a grade.

I like to check my site’s grade every now and then. It used to be at 80-something, but I checked again today and now it’s at 90! Woohoo 🙂

Congrats on your grade Mimi. Since putting my site through, I have been making adjustments to improve my own. Hopefully one day my blog will be a 100.
