It’s been a long time in the making. I’ve had this design on Blondish.net for about 4 years. I use to change theme design on a yearly basis, but when your website starts to get larger, it takes more time to plan a design that will fit where my brand is going.
My site is over it’s 10 year mark, and about to enter it’s teens, so the stripes are going, and a few changes to the color palette, overall theme design, and the logo, are on the agenda.
Over the next few weeks, I will be unveiling the theme design in phases. It will look plan at first, but the first phase will be a little more minimal. I’ve always been a person that my client’s website comes first before my own, but in doing that, my theme design has fallen behind. It was cute, and uses the colors that reflect my personality. However, today, the theme is quite behind because it doesn’t reflect current trans, it’s not as web accessible as I want, and it’s got some responsive design flaws.
So, as I’m talking about these changes, it matters because I’ve not been pointing out what I do. My tagline says “Helping You Rock Out your Website like a Rockstar”, but doesn’t really convey how or why other than my introduction. I write a lot, and have gotten a lot of great WordPress website design and development projects, but because of my design, it limits my audience because they believe my skills aren’t flexible. I had to think about… if they can’t get past the look of the design to view my portfolio, then how can I attract business in various niche?
One of my specialities is creating websites that convert, so if my design is not reflecting this, then I’m failing. I’ve also stepped into public speaking and teaching people about blogging, WordPress, social media, SEO, and web design. That part of my life has become a very serious thing. So, it’s time for my website to… grow up.
While I won’t reveal the website design yet, I will reveal the new color palette and the new logo for the website.
The rest, will be rolled out as a surprise. You’ll just need to check back for the changes in the next few weeks.
What do you think so far?
