Help Sponsor My Trip to BlogHer16!

By Nile Flores

help-sponsors-my-trip-to-blogher16-200x200I need your help.

I’m going to be looking for a few sponsors to be able to send me to BlogHer16. This event is August 4-6, 2016, in Los Angeles, California. There are expected to be well over 3000 attendees!

I’m running 2 labs at BlogHer, both WordPress related. One is a WordPress Q&A, and the other, WordPress Security (introduction.)

I need to raise at least $1050 before July 15th July 28, 2016. This will cover transportation, food, and hotel. I’m fairly frugal when I travel, but this is the cost I estimated on the original budget based of my WordCamp San Diego trip a few months ago. Summer time is more expensive, because it’s not off season out in Los Angeles.

In return, I will be putting my sponsors in the sidebar of my site from July 1 – August 15, 2016. I will also be putting up a post soon about it. I will also have follow up post event recap on my site. I will also tweet out to my followers a solid thanks to my sponsors, and mention sponsors on Facebook here.

I’m allowed to make materials (PDF) and even have print out, so I figured I could put the logos of those who sponsor me on those materials. (Note: Anonymous donations are allowed and welcomed as well.) It is a 1st time I’ve been invited to be a presenter for BlogHer, and it is really something special. It’s not a WordCamp, but to be invited to do 2 labs for such a huge event, that it is even more special, and I get to share what I love, with a LOT of people.

If you wish to become a sponsor:

1. Sponsor Package A: $50.
Just get your logo on the sidebar and 2 posts on Blondish (1 pre-event post, and 1 post event post), and 1 tweet.

2. Sponsor Package B: $150.
Just get your logo on the sidebar and 2 posts on Blondish (1 pre-event post, and 1 post event post), 3 tweet mentions, FB mention (x2), logo and link on PDF resource material for attendees, logo on print resource material for attendees. I will also mention you to my 5K+ subscribers on my newsletter list.

3. Trade in services /pre-paid retainer time: 8 hours of design work, or 8 hours of consultation, or a website review for $299.

Note: When you are mentioned on Twitter, it will involve using the BlogHer16 event hashtag. I do want to make sure people know that I made it there because of you.

Contact me if you’re interested. Money needs to be raised and received by July 28th, but the sooner, the better as hotel and travel rates get more expensive as the event gets closer.

That’s very generous, I mean the logo on the sidebar for just $50. Too bad I’m short on cash right now. The economy is usually not in my favour during this time of the year. That said, I hope you get many sponsors. Goodluck.

Yes, BlogHer is open to anyone. Most of the audience is female, but there are definitely men who attend the event.
