Graphic: Inspiration Is All Around You

By Nile Flores 24 Comments

I hear it quite often from bloggers, web designers, and graphic designers about not being able to find any inspiration lately. Of course, people are quick to blame it on some creative or bloggers block, but really, inspiration can be found everywhere!

You are really only limited by yourself. If you are finding you cannot write or create, go out and do something to get those creative juice flowing. πŸ™‚

In some cases, you may be lacking the knowledge in that area, but that can be remedied by reading and finding out about your topic or form of art. Web and graphic design, is easy to be inspired as there are millions of graphics and websites that may have that spark to get you going. Now, it does not mean that you would copy it, but it certainly can help you form ideas for your own, especially when you feel stuck.

The first thing most people do when they find they are stuck in a creative rut, is panic and despair. This is also negative and close-minded. You have the control over your mind to think positive and remember that you control what you think and do. As Morpheus says in The Matrix, “Free your mind.”

I have put together a fun graphic to help you remember that inspiration is all around you.

    I love the graphic Nile!

Inspiration is something that comes and goes for me. But when it comes…I put it on a note pad on my computer. Sometimes a few lines.

“opening our eyes” is the key here Nile. But sometimes we get so involved with our DMO, that we do have to remind ourselves to sit back, take a break, then all inspiration comes flowing.

    Thanks,
    Donna

I’ve had some problems coming up with new topics for my blog posts recently. But, sometimes all I have to do is to think about what is going on in my life and I get inspiration on what to write about.

    Hi Nile,

yes, you are so right inspiration is all around us and we are the ones that can be open to it.

For me it is more about the belief in myself to actually use the abundance of inspiration and turn it into content. So that is the area I have been working on.

Thank you for your insightful post.
    Cheers,
    Yorinda

Hi, Nile. Happy New Year! The best thing for me to get my inspiration is to first think of the topic I’m going to write about. Then, as I go through the week, I may have different articles or thoughts come to mind. I’m sure to write those down. By the end of the week, I have plenty of inspiration to get going on my article.

I find getting away from the norm and routine, even if it’s just for an hour or two is great for inspiration… a walk, a trip or simply 30 mins in a coffee shop with a newspaper.

Well if you’re running out of ideas it might be time to get a new job… No just kidding πŸ™‚ it happens to the best of us, I usually take a short break or do something completely opposite, but luckily if I’m stuck on the job another designer gives me a hand and we work it together or they will take it an I get another project, it’s all in the clients best interest but it happens.
