Getting Feedback from Your Blog Readers is as Simple as This

By Nile Flores 6 Comments

Emailing your newsletter list a survey is always something you should do, but not everyone on your list is actively reading your blog, or has time to do a survey. So, that means that you may not get all the feedback that you want.

Getting Feedback from Your Blog Readers is as Simple as This

If you want to get feedback from your blog readers, you need to email them personally. Don’t email that reader from a year or two ago. Email that reader that had been on your website today or this week, the one that left a comment on your website.

And don’t just dive in and blast them with a request for feedback, but don’t bend over backwards kissing their bum, just to get them to give you some simple feedback. Open up your email to them with a hello and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Sure, if your website has one of those automated ‘thank you’ emails sent out every time a reader comments, you might have to switch it up so your email doesn’t seem like an auto-generated response.

Make sure the title of the email is unique, but warm. Make sure to ask them if it’s okay to send you a couple questions, and not just send the questions right away. Be honest on what you need, but don’t blast them with some offer, or you’ll never get a response. No one likes to get spammed, and frankly, the purpose of your email is to try to at least get some helpful feedback.

Your personal email lets your readers know that you care about them and want to connect. It could open a door to other opportunities, if you ended up emailing a reader who has connections. If a ready reaches out to you on social media, and says that they commented on a post, then you may want to try them first, since they’ve not only left a comment on your blog, but have taken the initiative to connect with you a second time.

So yeah, getting feedback from your readers is as simple as just emailing them.

    Hey Nile,

Glad to read your informative post. Feedback is one of the most important things you can get from a reader.

And one of the best ways to get that feedback is to create an awesome survey that your blog readers actually enjoy filling in. Eventually, thanks for sharing your best ideology regarding this subject.

    With best wishes,
