This 20 minute podcast is on marketing and your business. As mentioned within the podcast, this can be for businesses that are online or have a physical location offline. I have shared some well known and not so known mediums in which to promote your business.
For those who have been reading my site, you know I am an advocate for taking advantage of whatever resources are available. I keep repeating this because I know eventually some of you reading will finally understand and finally try each medium out. That is the beauty of marketing. You can try different types of campaigns to see how it will be received by others. Those different campaigns, on top of the various mediums means your presence will eventually be seen.

About some basic marketing, you can always print cards and hand them out to everyone you talk to. Also get a car decal so when you are driving around, people can see it.
Online marketing is perhaps harder. Once you set your site up, make sure you blog regularly on your topic, join forums, comment regularly, take part in social media.
Aptly expressed the importance of marketing, Yeah, I do ask for feedback when I spread the word about my work on the internet. And I think Podcast is great way to engage with the audience.

You bring some really good arguments in favour of online marketing. I agree with you- we have to take advantage of any means of promoting and internet is a huge opportunity these days- with so many gadgets- tablets, smartphones- people can access information about you in the subway, in the park, they can share with their friends on the main social networks information about your services and products- and it is really a shame not to take advantage of this. Podcasting and YouTube are two of my favorite mediums for marketing.
I’m trying to encourage the use of podcasting here at my day job too.
I tell people that the easiest way to get started with podcasting, blogging or even YouTube is to appear as a guest or to be interviewed on someone else’s show.
Have you tried using Google+ Hangouts outs on Air yet? We should get together for one soon.
Cool intro music! For a while, I thought I was listening to a radio station rather than a podcast 🙂 Anyway, I totally agree with you, marketing is really an important aspect of business. Without it, business will not move forward. That’s why they have this acronym – ABM: Always Be Marketing.
Having a website not only tells your customers and potential ones where to find you but also tells them more about you and your business. A lot of people are not comfortable talking to others and would just rather check you out on your site. Having a site that showcases your business/services would help them get to know you. And if you have a blog with lots of interactions, that would also help convey that you are an expert on your niche.
How did you get approval for the ACDC song and what did it cost? That was a great start.
Who did it is a non-disclosure, but the person who did is a professional radio disc jockey who is licensed to be able to use this. Also, it helps to be able to get this done if you are not selling anything on your podcast. I do not as the podcast is free.

Thanks for sharing these offline social media marketing tips. You pack a lot of information in one podcast! You talked about almost every marketing method I can think of. If your business is offline, I believe have to have an online presence these days, especially a main website and social media platforms.
I remember doing many of the methods you talked about when I had an offline business. The purpose of doing all of these types of activities is to build your business and be competitive in your niche.
I used to be a member of my local Chamber of Commerce and found it to be a great way to connect with other people in the business community. I also have participated in meetups. Active, honest participation, as you suggested, truly exemplifies effective networking. I like your podcasts! Thank you!

You really need to have a long term marketing strategy whether it’s online or off. We’re shifting to Twitter marketing at the minute, it’s quite hard to do it right so you need to plan before just jumping in.

There are lots of medium to be used to market a business some are free like social networking sites if they only know how to efficiently use it. They can also utilize blogs of certain niche to review their product and be able to reach target market.

It depends on your audience. Ask them if they are interested in listening to a podcast that is 15 to 30 minutes long. Ask them what they are interested about. Before I got into podcasting, I had people asking me to try it… and it has worked well as an addition to my site.
I agree marketing is important, but sometimes it can be over-rated. If your business or product really suck, it will get you nowhere eventually, no matter how good your “marketing” is.
