I really felt that after I created and shared my infographic called The Infographic on Infographics, that I needed to also podcast about it. I have already written a few other articles about infographics, but have not podcasted about it… until now.
Aside from web development and designing, I have done graphic design for years… if you couldn’t already tell by my own site. 😛 I’ve worked with marketing agencies on creating graphics that are effective and draw a nice impact from viewers without blasting them with a lengthy graphic.
Yes, there are a lot of well designed “infographics”, but truly, they are a fail. They are suppose to be brief.
We are learning the wrong things from people who have: a strong point in one area, or are just following what they have commonly seen, or they are making up their own rules as they go. More than likely, an infographic with way too much information on it is glanced at and shared because it looks like it might be good, rather than delving deeper and looking. That is a fail.
I chose to make topic into a mini podcast episode, which is a 3-5 minute segment.
What are you thoughts on infographics? Do you create your own, or do you often use other’s infographics? Were you aware of what an infographic really was and how it was suppose to be used?

Hi Nile!
There is nothing worse than seeing those long infographics! I like that fast information if it is a good one. When they are too long, it gets me dizzy!
As long as they are legible and clear I can go with the information. If it is too confusing I bounce off as fast as I can.
Your advice to keeping it simple is great! BTW I love the way you design things Nile. You are so creative!
Cheers!
