As of May 11, 2015, Blondish.net is 9 years old. Wow! Before Blondish.net, I had hopped around on a few cute domains before settling. While I’ve actually contemplated switching to my own name for a domain name instead, I decided to keep with Blondish.net because… it still suits me.
I’m still helping people with their websites. I’m still blogging.
Some things that are different:
- I speak at public events like WordCamps, as well as blogging and social media conferences.
- I stopped doing free website reviews and started offering more robust website reviews ones at a price.
- I finally got one ebook done.
- I proudly work with Team Yoast as customer support. I also validate and translate their plugins in 2 dialects of Spanish.
- I finished my web design degree, and half-way to finishing my business degree.
- My son is 12, and also blogs.
- I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet a lot of amazing people, including my best friend, Kimberly Castleberry.

In the last 5 years, this site, and myself has come very far. It’s not always easy being a woman in the tech field, but the reward after the struggles are worth it.

Genesis Child themes
I’m working on Genesis child themes, both free and premium themes.
eBook
I’m also working on my WordPress for Beginners ebook. The ebook will be a culmination of some of the things I’ve spoken at WordCamp, plus things I’ve discussed in this website. It’s intended for beginners to start off their website the right way, especially with the correct knowledge. I’ve pinned the pillars of learning WordPress for beginners into a few major sections. In doing so, the the beginner can go from start, to having a full and functioning website, with no code necessary.
I’m excited about it and intend to sell this ebook along with access to premium video screencasts.
This is a huge step for me as I’ve relied just building websites and also contributing countless hours to helping WordPress users throughout the years. I’ll still be in the trenches helping out, but after many of you have kept asking if I would ever write an ebook for WordPress beginners, I’m finally doing it. So… in regards to that, thank you for the motivation.
More modifications to website
Blondish.net’s design will take on some changes. Aside from some design modifications, there will be some content re-organization so each category had interesting featured content.
More freebies
I definitely will be re-unveiling some free graphics that I had here for some time on Blondish.net that needed to be re-organized. Aside from the older graphics, I’ll be adding new ones.

I’ve got some interviews already in the works. My WordPress Rockstar series is coming back, as well as Blog Rockstar Series, and also Social Media Success series. I hope these help motivate you.

I think having that ebook is great. Teaching people who are new sure do need your knowledge and expertise. When considering so many people coming into the fold, you would be a great teacher.

I think you will benefit a lot by having your own ebook – it’s always good to create a product, then sell it over and over. Although, I’m sure you’ll be doing updates to it as well, but mostly, you’ll be able to earn while you’re sleeping or having fun.
