Blog Inspiration – Why Sometimes Taking a Field Trip Helps

By Nile Flores 19 Comments

Fields trip for blog inspiration? Is this school? No, it’s not, but I like to call my outings for blog inspiration as “field trips.” Since I’m home a lot, being within four walls can suck out inspiration. Sure, the Internet has a lot of wonderful things that I can learn, and can fuel ideas for my blog, but it can only do so much.

Blog Inspiration – Why Sometimes Taking a Field Trip Helps

Fresh air, some sun, and a different environment can do a lot of wonders. Unlike a lot of my colleagues, I am an extrovert, so working from home has made me learn how to mingle in other ways. When I can’t, I have to go out and find somewhere to meet others, or experience something new.

For some, meeting someone else can be a nightmare, but if you can overcome it, you can learn a lot about other people and it can influence how you blog. How can it? Well, maybe the person you met has a learning or physical disorder, or a really interesting life story. Things that you don’t normally face, can be a life changer, especially when you hear about it from someone else.

Aside from meeting people, take a field trip somewhere. It could be the park, or recreation center, a beach, or a short road trip. You could even go on a vacation. Take pictures, soak in the sights, and think about how you feel in that setting. You could even bring a small notebook and jot down a few notes. Or, you can just enjoy your time, and not think about blogging. For some people, they feel that they have to blog or else they will fail, and honestly, that’s a recipe towards blogger burnout.

The point is, that regardless of where you’re an introvert or extrovert, as a blogger, you should try a field trip every so often to help inspire you to blog. Blogging takes a lot of time to master, and not everyone is a writing machine, or filled with ideas all of the time.

Have you taken a field trip lately to get inspiration for your blog?

I like the idea of changing up the scenary but finding a new recipe is my first priority. Going to a new place is always a good way to create a post.

Our family loves to travel (had to scrap travel plans for now because of the pandemic. what a bummer! but I digress). Aside from the chance to spend some bonding time with each other, traveling can provide us learning experiences by exposing us to other people and culture – and nature, too!

Honestly, getting outside away from work can really help rest your mind and help with the creative process. I find it works wonders.

We love to go on trips but the pandemic stopped us from doing so but, we get to go to a National Park last fall. We need a breather from time to time.

It is good to take a break and rethink things sometimes. I tend to get burnt out different times of the year and need to freshen up my blogging routine.

There are many ways to get inspiration especially when you are working from home. I particularly like that you call your outing field trips and you find it useful. I must admit, I am an outdoor person so I have to be outdoors all the time to get inspired.

I guess last year and now is the longest time I have been at home. Pandemic really hits us especially our traveling lifestyle. I have not yet taken any field trips right now but hopefully when everything gets back to normal. Going on a trip really relax my mind and body.

Trips help always: in the everyday life but also when we talk about blogging or work.
