Here’s the thing. There’s nothing wrong with Yoast SEO Premium. It’s pretty handy and you’re supporting a great development team. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium for $89 per year. What you need to ask – what are you currently doing for your SEO plan, and what do you need? Does Yoast SEO premium have features that you need?
Is Yoast SEO Premium worth the money?
I’ve used Yoast SEO Premium and yes, it can be handy and worth the money, but it’s not what I needed because I’m an experienced blogger. I don’t need the content analysis. I like the social media and Open graph related featured of Yoast SEO, as well as sitemap, title and meta descriptions, breadcrumb control, and Schema markup. You may find that you want the extra social features or multiple keywords for the content analysis, in the premium version. If you have WooCommerce, you may find the WooCommerce SEO add-on for Yoast pretty handy.
However, and again, the right question isn’t about whether it’s worth the money, but rather, what features of the premium version would help you?
As a followup- as a reminder to people, an SEO plugin is a tool to help guide you to better, more optimized content. SEO is still very much a crap-shoot, as many of you have sites in various niche that are similar to your site.
You, in the end are writing, organizing your site, and putting in the work to deliver unique content that hopefully will ranks well. If you believe a SEO plugin will generate results, you’re going about this the wrong way. It is a tool in the end, so utilize it. Yoast has a lot of tutorials and in-depth knowledge-base.
Yoast SEO Premium Features
Now, that I’ve added my input, I think it’s necessary that I make sure to list what features Yoast SEO Premium has, that the free version doesn’t. The following at Yoast SEO Premium features:
- Access to in-depth SEO training tutorials in Yoast Academy.
- Ability to find keywords that perform well in the search engine results.
- Keyword optimization for multiple terms.
- Snippet preview in Google, Facebook, and Twitter.
- Suggestions for internal link.
- Redirection link manager.
- Integrates well with Elementor, a page builder plugin.
- Integrates with Zapier to automate publishing.
- Ability to export both focus keywords and SEO Scores.
- No ads shown in plugin.
- Free Plugin support for a year.
Access to in-depth SEO training tutorials in Yoast Academy.
Yoast Academy is a great resource to learn a lot of basics in SEO. If you want to learn SEO, this alone is well worth getting the premium version of Yoast SEO.
Ability to find keywords that perform well in the search engine results.
Don’t know what keywords that you should be including in your content, then this tool will help you find high performance keywords.
Keyword optimization for multiple terms.
The free version of Yoast SEO only allows you to optimize 1 keyword per post or page.
Snippet preview in Google, Facebook, and Twitter.
The snippet preview allows you to see what title, article description, and more, that you would like Google to use for your post type’s search result. The free version only allows you to see the Snippet preview for Google.
Suggestions for internal linking.
Internal linking is vital to any website, as it allows you to connect similar content, which in return, your visitors could stay on your site longer, just to read that information.
Redirection link manager.
If you delete or move content, sometimes you may need to redirect that old page elsewhere. Yoast SEO Premium is built with a redirection manager. If you have the plugin called Redirection, or a few other types of redirection plugins that Yoast supports, you can even import those redirections in that plugin, to Yoast SEO Premium’s Redirection manager feature.
Integrates well with Elementor, a page builder plugin.
Yoast has made it easier for it’s content analysis and other tools to recognize the elements within Elementor, which is a popular page builder plugin. This helps you to optimize your content without worrying about your page builder content block code being in the way.
Integrates with Zapier to automate publishing.
Zapier is a tool that lets users do a lot of things, including pushing content to many resources. Yoast has built a feature to allow you to optimize and help publish content out to other places.
Ability to export both focus keywords and SEO Scores.
Unlike the free version, Yoast SEO Premium allows you to export all your focus keywords and SEO scores, so you can look at them in a spread sheet.
No ads shown in plugin.
The free version of Yoast SEO has a few ads that some of the community believes are a nuisance. In purchasing Yoast SEO Premium, you can use the plugin’s features and have an ad-free experience.
Free Plugin support for a year.
Team Yoast has one of the best technical support teams in the WordPress community (I know, I used to be a part of their team), and know the plugin’s ins and outs, as well as know how it should behave with most other popular themes and plugins. They are available in all time zones, every day, in case you have any unexpected issues using the plugin. If you’re using the free version, you usually have to wait longer in the free Yoast SEO forum at WordPress.org Support Forums, and sometimes it’s not a member of Team Yoast that answers. In fact, they aren’t obligated to answer your question there.
Yoast SEO Premium’s Worth – Summary
After listing all of the features that come bundled in Yoast SEO Premium, as well as the support, that’s actually a lot of bang for your buck. Think about it, at some of the average support and fix it company prices, in 2-3 support sessions with Team Yoast, for technical support of the premium plugin, you’ve already got your money’s worth.
On top of that, this meager amount only goes to the further development of the plugin, so you’re actually supporting a well documented and coded plugin.
Again, if you’re advance in SEO, and think it’s not worth the investment, that’s okay. Every content creator has their own goals, and their own preference in tools, in order to achieve better search engine optimization for their website.

Hi Nile, I love my Yoast premium and have been using it for years. I wish they offered a discount for the second site of mine though. The price has gone up quite a bit the past year. I do recommend it for bloggers unless they are very SEO savvy!
