A Bit of Nostalgia

By Nile Flores 6 Comments

This year marks 10 years since I graduated high school. Can you believe it? Just thinking about it, I cannot. It makes me feel a bit old. Since then, I have dedicated myself to developing my passion in writing and even art in general, like web and graphic design. I never profess myself some guru in the fields, but I have a lot of experience.

The reading, the practice, the schooling, it has all been worth it. Although I am still in college for another degree, I hope it brings me closer to what I want to do, which is to be a business owner. Right now, I am making it by myself barely as a entrepreneur. It has not been easy. And considering most web designers take an average of 10 years to make it, I believe I am doing fine.

My one thing that I fear is high school reunions. So far, I have heard nothing, and I remember that even my father had one when he was younger. I came from a huge high school, and I have moved around quite a bit in the past 10 years. I often think about those I use to be acquainted with and what they are doing. Of course, I hope they are doing well.

If you have graduated high school, what have you done since?

🙂 High school was a bittersweet thing, definitely. It’s only been four years for me, and yeah, basically all I’ve done is more studying! D= I don’t mind, though. Working life will come when it comes, and I’ll probably miss being a student then.

Haha, but I think reunions are pretty cool! It’s amazing to see how people change… and don’t. ;P

You’re doing more than fine, Nile. 😀

I graded in 98 and I went to mine last summer with a good friend of mine. It was alright some of the people I wish I got to see didn’t attend. Most of the night people were like “Kimm … you had a kid, you look great”

Thanks to facebook, its a lot easier to catch up on people you went to school with (if anyone of them befriended ya)

One of the guys mentioned: after 10 years it was interesting to see who’s married, have kids etc but who knows at our next reunion how many people would be also divorced.

My husband just had his 10 year reunion! He didn’t go though, lol.

Since high school, I got married, had a baby, moved several times, and graduated college even though I’m still there to further my education.

I graduated not too long ago in 2005 but I’m super excited about my high school reunion and see what my classmates are up to then.

Hehe. It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve graduated. WOW. I did not realize it’s been that fast. 5 more years until reunion… Hehe. Well, I’ve graduated with my B.S., and now I’ve started my career.

Woah, reading Kimm’s comment made me realize someone’s high school reunion’s next year, I believe, and the whole thing about getting married/divorced/etc made me remember that… Haha…
